Continental sets a new 20MEur investment in Timisoara

The renowned German manufacturer of automotive industry, Continental, put Friday the cornerstone for the building of a new center for engineering and testing products.

Total investment is 20 million and the total surface of the new building is 30,000 square meters. The new center is located at Siemens street, near the current headquarters of Continental located on Buziasului boulevard.

The launching moment concided with the realization of the product number 1 million realized by the German electronics factory in Timisoara. "This building offers the opportunity for future development, given the fact that the currently engineering center in Timisoara has 1,800 employees. Together with electronic factory we have the perfect combination for our research and development activities", said Christian von Albrichsfeld, CEO and Director of Research and Development in Romania.

Continental Romania develops products for all three divisions of the Automotive Group - Chasis & Safety, Interior and Powertrain: airbag control units, electronic braking systems, chassis control units, navigation systems, multimedia and radio units and board instruments.
