Timis County - national epicenter of solar investments

According to Transelectrica the highest concentration of projects in this field will develop in the west region, especially in Timis County. An eloquent proof is the solar park from Buziaş newly opened. There are produced 1.2 megawatts per year which can be delivered over the network.

Several other projects, from capacity of one megawatt to 32 megawatts, are in various stages of implementation.

The main reasons why foreign investors have chosen Timis are: favorable investment environment, geographical location and the existence of numerous air links between Timisoara and European cities.

Timis County is also attractive for project developers on biomass, biogas and biofuels, due to the agriculture practiced in the region. The so-called corridor of wind make Timis County very attractive for wind energy projects.
