Top counties who have created jobs: Timis, Satu Mare Prahova are leading the top

Almost half of the 9.300 jobs created last year from new investments, are recorded in five counties, respectively: Timis, Satu Mare Prahova, Tulcea and Caras-Severin according to data from the report "Romania: regional investment picture in 2011 and 2012", conducted by Andreea Paul, economic adviser of the prime minister.

The data was collected from prefectures. This is the first study conducted in Romania in order to identify new investments, both foreign and local, and new investment prospects. In Timis were created 1.052 jobs last year, the county being a leader in this area. The unemployment rate was 1.75% last year, at half of the national average.

The value  of foreign and local investment made ​​in 2011 in Romania amounts to over 2.3 billion Euro. These investments have resulted in the achievement of 9.300 jobs last year. Other 6.700 jobs will be created through investments planned this year.

The local investments were more oriented towards wood processing industry,  agriculture, including horticulture and zootechnics,  tourism and trade. The foreign investments are predominantly oriented towards the automotive industry or to produce electricity using conventional methods or renewable energy.

After this report, Andreea Paul will launch a brochure called "Your business partner for Romania, 2012" for foreign investors.
