Summit in Timisoara: Timisoara is part of world history
Date: 10/03/2010
Source: Adevarul
Over 100 officials around the world are present today in Timisoara for a U.N. meeting on the relocation of refugees. This meeting is the first in history to take place outside Geneva.
Timisoara hosts today and tomorrow a historic meeting in Romania. The Relocation Group of the Refugees High Commissariat meets in Timisoara. At the event arrived over 100 delegates from countries that receive or help refugees. Timisoara was chosen for this meeting as a sign of gratitude because here was established the first transit center for refugees in the world. From the opening until now, the center hosted about 500 refugees who were not safely at home.
Only in Romanian. More info you can read here.
