Bosch starts the construction of the production and development center at Jucu, an investment of 77 million Euro

The German Group Bosch announced that it will begin in the second quarter of this year the construction at Jucu, Cluj county, a development and production center for electronic control units for automotive industry. In the first phase of investment, the construction will last until the end of 2013 and the planned investment amounts to 77 million Euro, according to a release issued by Bosch.

The new center will have a total area of about 38.000 square meters, and by the end of next year will be recruited about 340 employees in production and research. Over the next years, the location will be extended.

From organizational point of view, this new center will be part of the Bosch Automotive Electronics division, which produces electronic control units, semiconductors and sensors for automotive and other fields. The division has 17 production sites worldwide and an estimated 20.000 employees.

On March of this year, Bosch also announced  it would invest 43 million Euro by the end of 2013 to expand the production unit in Blaj. After the investment of 43 million Euro, Bosch will produce in Blaj wheel speed sensors and crankshaft speed sensors, for automotive industry. Bosch Romania has about 1.400 employees, of whom 580 work at the plant in Blaj.
