Inventors from Timisoara, gold medalists for an installation that produces biogas from waste facility

A biogas production plant using municipal waste brought Romania the gold medal at the International Ideas - Inventions - New Products Trade Fair from Germany - IENA 2010, held in Nurnberg. Banat representatives topped the ranking of European inventors due to a system which reduces both costs and pollution levels.
Municipal waste is taken and placed in a fermentation tank. The resulted biogas is passed through a filter to retain sulphide hydrogen, and then through a filter of carbon dioxide capture, is obtained methane in concentration of over 80%.
