Hunedoara Timisana, a natural wealth in Timis and Arad counties

Hunedoara Timisana site is located in Timis and Arad counties, at a distance of 24.1 km from Timisoara and 14 km from Arad city and covers an area of 1 536.7 hectares. "Regional Environmental Protection Agency Timisoara assumed starting this year the management of Natura 2000 site - Hunedoara Timisana by signing with the Ministry of Environment and Forests a custody agreement," declared Mrs. Gabriela Lambrino, Coordinator Director of Regional Environmental Protection Agency Timisoara. This site is considered a bird special protection area and together with the other 108 sites at national level they are part of the European ecologic network Natura 2000 in Romania.

Hunedoara Timisana is made up of four perimeters located on the right side of 69 County Road Timisoara-Arad, in the villages Ortisoara (Timis county), Vinga, Sagu and Hunedoara Timisoana in Arad county. The area is important because of the bird species protected by national and international legislation.
