According to a study by a German firm, hot gold is the main wealth of Timis county

The inhabitants in Timis county will heat the end of this decade ... using the sun. A park with solar installations will be arranged in the rural area of Timis county. Timis County Council will offer the land and the project is its initial phase.
However, thermal and geothermal energy (also called "hot gold") is the main wealth of Timis county, according to a study conducted by a German company in a project coordinated by ADETIM (Timis County Economic Development Agency). Over 50% of Timis land has a geothermal potential of 100 Celsius degrees (the area East of Timisoara), experts claiming that in 15% of the territory it reaches 130 to 150 Celsius degrees.
