The fifth net beneficiary of EU funds, with 1.6 billion euro

Romania received 2.67 billion euro last year from the European Union (EU) and recorded, considering the amounts that Romania contributed to the EU budget, a net profit of 1.58 billion euro, the fifth largest in EU according to the European Commission's report on the 2008 budget.
In 2007, Romania was a net beneficiary of EU funds worth 1.6 billion euro, which means 125 euro per capita.
