Romania climbs 4 places in global competitiveness top - worst infrastructure

08/09/2009

Romania climbed four places in the global competitiveness top compared to 2008, being number 63 of 133 countries participating in the Global Competitiveness Report 2009-2010, conducted by the World Economic Forum, according to the Group of Applied Economics, the institution's partner in Romania.

Although the improvement of the score is insignificant compared to the previous report, when Romania was on the penultimate place in the EU, this year three member countries are less competitive (Latvia, Greece and Bulgaria). Romania is on the last place in EU on infrastructure, health and basic education and technological training.
