The first wind park in Caras-Severin county

10/08/2009

POJEJENA - If things go as they should, the largest wind park in Romania will be built on the river Danube, at Clisura Dunării.

Efforts regarding a wind park have begun a while ago. Wind measurements show that the area Clisura Dunării on the river Danube would have the greatest wind potential in Romania. The Local Council Pojejena will tender about 1,200 ha of land for this purpose, the surface needed to build 120 wind centrals.

The same will happen at Socol, where the plan is to build another 120 wind centrals.

As a benefit, the City Council Pojejena will earn an annual profit of 120,000 euro, and free electricity in the village.

Another windmill park, smaller than the one in Pojejena will be established at Vrani. The aggregate capacity of all wind centrals is 14.4 MW / hour.

Only in Romanian. More info you can read here.
