Green Energy in Valea Jiului

31/07/2009

Wind turbines are going to be installed on Mount Dobraia and a microhydroelectric station will be build on the river Taia. This microhydroelectric station will provide free electricity for public lighting and public institutions in Petrila city.

Two projects for the production of "clean" energy will be developed near the town of Petrila in Hunedoara county. A Romanian-Italian company has already signed an agreement with local city councilors to build a microhydroelectic station on Taia river, in the area Valea Popii.

A German company intends to assemble more wind turbines on Mount Dobraia, a  project that will earn the City Hall Petrila about 30,000 euros per year, equivalent to 6% of the profit made by the German company from this business.
