Romania could finish 2009- lowest unemployment rate

Romania could have at the end of 2009, the lowest unemployment rate in Central and Eastern Europe, 7%, after the financing agreement concluded with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union (EU) increased the confidence in economy, according to a "Reuters" analysis.

Unemployment rate in Romania grew only with 0.1% in May, compared to March 2009, reaching the level of 5.8%, the maximum of the past three years. The Minister of Labor Marian Sarbu, declared that it is expected that unemployment will not exceed 7%, respectively 620,000 unemployed persons until the end of the year.
