IMF approved a financing agreement with Romania

International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced officially that the agreement with Romania for two years financing was approved by the board or executive and the first tranche of 4.37 billion Special Drawing Right (SDR) (4.9 billion euro or 6.6 billion U.S. dollars) is available immediately.

The agreement is intended to "support the economic programme made by Romanian authorities and aims to mitigate the effects of reducing the enhanced inputs of capital, is addressing the same time, external and fiscal imbalances in the country and strengthening the financial sector", noted the IMF.
