TCI Mediterranean Conference - Clusters as drivers for economic and social development in the Mediterranean area, Izmir, 14-15 June 2012

Clusters as Drivers for Economic and Social Development in the Mediterranean Area Conference is the first TCI Conference organized in the Mediterranean Area where there is a great deal of clustering policy development and implementation experience especially in the last decade.

The expected attendance of the Conference is around 300 participants, among who are practitioners, policy makers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, cluster managers, researchers and consultants working in the field of clustering, competitiveness, innovation and economic development. In this regard, the participants will have the chance of meeting professionals coming from all over the world, exchanging views and creating co-operations with them and benchmarking their initiatives and activities. The main outcome of the Conference will be building social bridges between all sides of the Mediterranean.

The conference will be designed as a combination of panel discussions and parallel workshop sessions. The presentation proposals are going to be grouped in the following subthemes:

  • Clustering in the Mediterranean: Commonalities and Experience Sharing
  • Policy Practices: Clustering for Regional Development
  • Clusters and Socioeconomic Development
  • International Organizations and Projects
  • Cluster-Specific Sessions: Cluster Practitioners from the Mediterranean Area

Presentation proposals are required to be submitted through the conference website (www.izmirconference.com) using the online form until 18 May 2012.
