Timisoara Airport increases also in economic crisis

Even in economic crisis, people from the western part of Romania prefer to travel by plane. The number of passengers from Traian Vuia Airport increased by 12%. This increase happened because the planes occupancy rate increased. A total of 11,442 planes landed and took off from the runway of Traian Vuia Airport, being an increase of 3,15% compared to 2008.
Romanian passengers can now flow to seven new destinations: Perugia, Cernauti, Valencia, Paris, Bergamo, Treviso and Barcelona. The total revenues of the airport increased by 30% and the turnover presented an advance of 24% in the year 2009.
