West Regional Development Agency completed the study on quality of life in the West Region

West Regional Development Agency (West RDA) completed with the support of the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy (IRES)the study on the quality of life in the West Region. The study was conducted within the project „Increasing the use of Structural Funds impact on the quality of life in the West Region" financed by the Technical Assistance Operational Programme, 2007-2013.

This is one of the five studies conducted by West RDA, with the support of local and regional partners involved in regional development planning, which contribute to a well founded Regional Development Plan of the West Region.

 Also, these studies contribute to the development of the project portfolio of the West Region for the new programming period.

The purpose of this study is to identify the potential of development and of attracting development funds to improve the quality of life and to transform West Region into an attractive place to live, work and visit. The study was conducted by West RDA during September 2012 - February 2013.

The main conclusions of the study include:

  • A good quality of the social environment represented by the relationship with family members and community members;
  • A high degree of satisfaction with the comfort of home, a positive impact of EU funded projects and satisfaction with the workplace
  • The need for a more dynamic economic environment that offers many opportunities to develop new businesses.
