Romania's exports reached a record level of 4.7 billion euro in October this year, up nearly 10 percent from the same month in 2012, at values expressed in lei, and by 5.5% compared to September 2012, while in the first ten months of this year, exports increased by 8.5%, at values expressed in lei, to 41.179 billion euros.
According to preliminary estimations of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) in October 2013, FOB exports amounted to 20.944 billion lei (4.701 billion euro) and CIF imports were 23.802 billion lei (5.345 billion euro).
The trade deficit (FOB / CIF) was in October 2013 of 2.858 billion lei (643.4 million euro), lower by 2.197 billion lei (467.2 million euro) than in October, 2012.
