Launching the Regional Eco-Innovation Competition and "Eco-Innovative Businesses in West Region" project

West Regional Development Agency (RDA West) and Tehimpuls Association - Regional Center of Innovation and Technology Transfer is launching the Regional Eco-Innovation Competition and the "Eco-Innovative Businesses in the West Region" project. The event is taking place on September 2nd, 2014 at West RDA headquarters.

 

The Regional Eco-Innovation Competition is organized for the second time in the West Region, first edition took place in 2013.  The competition is organized within the Regional Innovation Fair - the fair will take place in Arad, on November 12, 2014.

The Regional Eco-Innovation Competition is open to all organizations and individuals in the West Region that make eco-innovative products and / or provide eco-innovative services. Its purpose is to support innovative start-ups for the integration of such products and / or services within existing businesses.

The prizes offered in within the Regional Eco-Innovation Competition will consist of training sessions, consulting and grant schemes for developing innovative start-ups, in amount of 10.000 euro. They will be awarded at the Regional Innovation Fair. The prizes will be offered within the "Eco-Innovative Businesses in West Region" project, funded through the Green Industry Innovation Programme Romania, Norwegian Fiancial Mechanism 2009-2014, Programme Operator - Innovation Norway.

Both, Green Industry Innovation Programme Romania, as well as "Eco-Innovative Businesses in West Region" project, the Regional Innovation Fair and the Regional Eco-Innovation Competition have the central theme of eco-innovation. Products, services or eco-innovative technologies in question are innovative solutions that find their practical application in supporting a sustainable development by reducing environmental impact through effective use of resources.

 Tehimpuls Association - the Regional Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer is a non-governmental, non-profit organization created in 2006 with the mission to increase the competitiveness of the West Region by facilitating the cooperation between companies, universities, R & D organizations and innovation. The founding members of Tehimpuls Association are: West RDA, Politehnica University of Timisoara, West University of Timisoara, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Banat "King Michael I of Romania", "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad, Association for Multidisciplinary Research in West Region and Engineers Association in Romania. They were joined in 2010 by Azur SA and Obrist Eastern Europe Ltd, and in 2013 by "Vasile Goldis" West University of Arad.
