Principle Agreement signed between Continental and the Romanian Government for creating 2000 new jobs

The international supplier of electronic components and the tire manufacturer, Continental foresees the creation of 2000 new jobs in Romania. Prime Minister, Emil Boc, and Mr. Christian von Albrichsfeld, General Manager of Continental Automotive Romania and representative of Continental Group in Romania, signed, Friday, in Timisoara, a Principle Agreement, confirming the intention of Continental Concern and the support of the Government on this matter.

The event was attended also by: George Ialomitianu, Finance Minister; Constantin Ostaficiuc, President of Timis County Council; Klaus Christian Olasz, German Consul in Timisoara; Pedro Carreira, General Manager of Tyres Continental Timisoara; Bernd Steinebronn, General Manager of ContiTech Timisoara and Rafael Mansurov, General Manager of ContiTech Carei.

With approximately 10.000 employees and 500 million euro invested in Romania, Continental is one of the biggest employers and investors in the country.

Continental considers that are possibilities to develop its locations in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei and to start a Greenfield project in Brasov region.

The project developed by ContiTech Fluid Automotive in Carei, consists in building a hall and installing a complete production line of water/air hoses for the automotive industry. The investment project worth 15 million euro and will generate 300 new jobs. The project received state aid of 4.4 million euro.
