Geoagiu Bai spa resort – modernized with EU money
After seven years against the
bureaucratic system in Romania,
Geoagiu Bai
City Hall obtained a notable
achievement - the local administration managed to obtain for Geoagiu Bai Resort
the first external financing in Romania
- for the infrastructure rehabilitation of Geoagiu Bai spa.
The total project is worth 23,077,242
lei of which 17,118,013 lei are non-refundable money. "Specifically, 98% of
the total project is funded by European Development Fund and the local contribution
is only 2%", stated Mr. Simion Mariş, Mayor of
Geoagiu Bai. The money will be used to rehabilitate the whole water supply
system - about 5.1 km, placing a total number of 150 connections and 55 fire
hydrants and network equipment with modern pressure control. Also the streets will
be rehabilitated for a length of 4.6 km.
